Arnold Bennett collection, 1926-1931.

The collection contains two letters from Arnold Bennett to Alan Fraser, 1928 and 1930, along with an inscribed copy of Bennett's published diary, Journal 1929 (London: Cassell, 1930); an advance issue of Bennett's novel, Lord Raingo (London: Cassell, 1926) in wrappers, with the bookplate of Scott Cunningham tipped in; and the author's corrected typed manuscript and corrected proofs of the magazine layout for two short stories, "Myrtle at six a.m." (Nash's, 1929) and "The Second night" (Good housekeeping, 1930), both with illustrations by Albert Bailey, bound in three volumes.
